About us

IRD is registered under the societies registration act of 1860 as a secular voluntary organization. It is a premier institution devoted to promotion of voluntary action, research, training and over all development of women and children . IRD mainly focus development though participatory methodology & environment of the community. It facilitates many development initiatives for the upliftment of the marginalized people for their sustainable development. We actively collaborate with like-minded NGOs, PRI, Government and financial institution to evolve new development strategies to reach our goal.

Message

Institution for Rural Development is registered under the societies’ registration Act of 1860 and maintaining its administrative office at Negri cottage PMG and administrative office powthil building Amboori.  The condition of NGOs in the present decade is not favourable due to the less consideration and negative approach of various governments.  The usual allotment made to the NGOs is decreased considerably and NGOs are suffering too much even its survival.  Therefore they were in a way to change their attitude and functioning to cope up with the changed circumstances.  It is a common fact that the signed agreements with the Govt. agencies are quite often neglected and we are very much bounded to various govt. programme  For eg. Govt. of Indian and Kerala neglected various programme even though agreement was signed. For eg. IRD has been running to 3 creche unit from 90s onwards and for the last executed with Bond with KSSWB.  Project was completed UC were submitted but not yet received the grant for 2016-17.  It is a common fact that the NGO was too much suffering in executing the various programmes.  Therefore it has necessitated us to think some other field to receive the grant even for survival.  This is due to the known formation of a sincere platform for the NGOs – we are not at all organized.
